Desiring to obey the Lord, I wanted to be glorifying to Him and Him alone! As He started raising me up for ministry, He impressed upon me how so many ministries receive the person's name, and although the person may follow the Lord, the name of the ministry should give Him the glory.
Because the Word of God is alive and those who are faithful to the Lord reading it daily receive that washing and regeneration, that uplifting from that precious Word, the Spirit told me this was actually the cutting edge of the Lord, walking in the revelation or revealed Word. Some do walk on the anointed edge of the Word, but many don't and still need to be ministered the truth. Out of what Jesus was doing in me, and the burden He was placing upon my heart to do several things: 1) to stir the body of Christ; 2) to comfort the body of Christ; 3) to be a vessel of use to heal the body of Christ; 4) to challenge the body of Christ; and 5) to empower the body of Christ with the truth; I was led in prayer one day and came up with Vision and Eternal as the focus of the ministry. A good friend of mine thought that it was too "new age" so the name became what it is today, The Prophetic Word Ministries International.
My wife and I do not shy away from controversy. I preach in prisons, most denominations (if they let me preach what the Word for their church is from the Lord), and across man made barriers such as race. I preach a straight to the heart message absent of compromise and full of grace. I allow the altar to be filled and will pray for all those who come. One time after the altar call, the whole church came forward (what a shock for me), but God moved dramatically and powerfully. I allow the Holy Spirit to work through His 9 gifts to bless His people.
