Don't Die an Early Death
Rev. John R. Greene
My family has enjoyed six years as South Carolinian residents, the last four as Allendale inhabitants. It has been my privilege to have ample chances to preach the Word of God to so many that desire to hear it. In ministering to many people, their responses have been expected. Whether you live here or there, people are still people, and people are very predictable. Two responses dominate: one is the approval of God's Word, and the other is the veto of God's truth. Whether rejecting or grasping The Holy Word, it produces strong emotions, many with dramatic flair!
Let's focus on rejection. When one cancels God's truth, it's an attempt to cover up sin; the usual reply, compromise the messenger. These people need Jesus!
Miserable, sinful people are obsessed and extreme, lacking logic, yet so many times the innocent are hurt because of their behavior. Too many people build kingdoms to have their way, to be the center of attraction and are jealous when others succeed. These people also need Jesus!
As mentioned last week, gossip, slander and the like especially when against a man of God places that person with Judas Iscariot. God's Word is clear, "Proclaim the Truth!" Jesus said that
