John's Usage of EK, ek
At the heart of the pre-tribulation rapture, many use Revelation 3:10 in their case for their position. The gist of their position is built upon the premise of the word, ek. Being formerly of this position, I have come to understand this word can be misused, and in this verse, this case is entirely proven. The word, ek, is translated in the NT primarily as "out of" as one way to use it which is fine. However, when we use language it is not important how you or I use it, but had everything to do with how the writer uses it. Thus in this case the impotance is now placed on John the apostle! How does John use ek? I have taken the time to place together his anointed writings in an attempt to show the consistency of John's usage of ek, and the translators recognition of John's usage. More often than not, John uses ek simply as our preposition in the English, "of". But not to bore you with any details that are more than I understand, these verses support my assertion that ek in John's usage doesn't vary so when the pre-tribulationist uses Rev 3:10, and says, "There, this verse proves it!" You know that that is against everything that John has written.
